About the Manchester Inventors Group
The Manchester Inventors Group in partnership with Manchester Libraries is a group that aims to help local inventors by providing the right information and sharing experiences.
The group meets on a monthly basis to discuss ideas, listen to talks by keynote speakers, brainstorming sessions, receive help from various support agencies and take part in workshop sessions. In addition, the meetings are a good opportunity to meet likeminded people.
The Manchester Inventors Group will give you an opportunity to make that next step forward by talking with people who have shared similar experiences, and organisations that can make it work for you.
Meetings are usually on the first Tuesday of the month, from 6p.m. to 8p.m. The venues and dates for the last few months have been changeable due to the closure of the Central Library, but we are meeting in the temporary new City Library, Elliot House, Deansgate, Manchester M3 3WD from September 2010.
Meetings are free to attend. Membership is £10 per annum.

Invention: the good, the bad and the ugly.
Lessons learned from 25 years of working with inventors. Graham Barker, writer of ‘A Better Mousetrap’ and the EPO Inventors’ Handbook, former NESTA assessor, and owner of invention consultancy abettermousetrap.co.uk, presents his personal SWOT analysis of UK invention, since he accidentally got tangled up in it in 1984.
